Time will not heal this fractured ending.
A broken vow is all I have kept.
Regrets will remain in the empty space I've hollowed out for myself.

And when I dream, it takes me away from all of this emptiness.
And when I wake, I know that I'll never escape it.

Lost to the nightmares, I have become a ghost of my former self –
so tormented hours drag on as the days mirror my discontent.
With every breath, I wither away; just echoes of who I once was.
These moments are slowly wilting, but it feels like ages have passed.

And when I dream, it takes me away from all of this emptiness.
And when I wake, I know that I'll never escape it.

My thoughts: pressured by the weight of remorse,
for in this silence such distance has grown.
And if forgiveness can never be found,
this grieving heart will forever be torn
between leaving and longing to stay,
waking and dreaming and wasting the days,
caught in the dissonance and the decay,
and constantly searching for ways to escape.

And when I dream, it takes me away from all of this emptiness.
And when I wake, I know that I'll never escape –
for within this chained heart, all hope is lost.
Still, love remains in the endless shades of grey.
